Fourth of July celebration
By Janelle Meador
Help us celebrate at the best address in town with a Fourth of July party— everyone is invited! The party begins at 4pm with food, drink, and entertainment provided by D.C Rodríguez, a unique and accomplished musician playing in San Miguel for the first time.
Fourth of July Celebration
Fri, Jul 4, 4-8pm
Libramiento a Dolores 105
In front of the Red Cross
Located in front of the Red Cross at Libramiento a Dolores Hidalgo 105, La Conexion, a longtime San Miguel favorite, offers mail and package services at their new building. As most of us know, other available services at La Conexion include fax, copy, scanner, printer and computing technical support. Caja Azul, an upscale eatery concept recently opened by Dr. Ricardo Gordillo, will be serving healthy, delicious juices and meals with a Mexican touch right next door at 103.
From 4-8pm on July 4, music will entertain you, Susan Sargent will be pouring you generous drinks, and Dr. Ricardo Gordillo from La Caja Azul will be creating tasty snacks for your enjoyment.
Your entertainer for the evening, accomplished musician and composer D.C. Rodríguez, was born into a family of musicians. He has studied piano, violin and guitar, is a singer, rapper, percussionist and a DJ. Musically, Rodriguez covers a wide range from progressive to electro and trance, and he takes requests from the audience to play old favorites for dancing. A recent meditative and mystical musical project, “Azteca de Oro,” explores pre-Hispanic music. He performs this music using different kinds of percussion, virtual instruments and pre-Hispanic instruments including ocarinas (pre-Hispanic whistles), seashells, rain sticks, teponaxtle, and flute, and includes Mayan, Náhuatl, Totonaco and Apache languages in his lyrics.
Be sure to stop by the best address in town on Friday, July 4, and help us celebrate the holiday, La Conexion’s new location, and the opening of La Caja Azul with food, drink and music. Ole!
