Enjoying San Miguel
By Sandra Ríos
San Miguel is a place with many attractions. Here we recommend some of them.
You can begin your tour in the Jardín and have breakfast in one of the restaurants in the portales (covered walkways) with a view of the Parroquia. El rincón de don Tomás is an option. Later, if you want to investigate the surroundings of San Miguel in a healthy and entertaining way, you can rent a bicycle. There are several options: we suggest taking the route from San Miguel to Atotonilco, whose shrine is a part of the World Heritage Site, along with San Miguel de Allende.

After biking or walking, you’ll want to recover your energy. An excellent choice for casual dining is Los Milagros, a restaurant on Relox 17, Centro, specializing in Mexican food. We suggest the arrachera molcajete, cooked in green sauce with nopales, spring onions, guero chili and cheese and garnished with guacamole, refried beans and corn tortillas.
In the evening, the best place to enjoy a good beer or a cocktail is La Sirena Gorda. This pleasant, relaxing place is located on Barranca 78, Centro.
