Mi Patio and artists combine to support the SPA
By Megan Gabel
Thanks to the generosity of its owner, Rafael Calderón, Mi Patio restaurant will host an art opening on June 25 from 5-7pm entitled “Sentimientos y Sensaciones,” featuring two talented artists, Sandra Palma de Ruiz and Maria Guadalupe Oliveras. The artists and Mr. Calderon have agreed to donate a portion of the art proceeds and restaurant income for the day to the SPA. Mr. Calderón is particularly proud to contribute to our community by hosting this event.

Restaurant Mi Patio
Beautifully decorated in a serene atmosphere, Mi Patio offers a full breakfast and tasty lunch/dinner specialties (Mexican lasagna, grilled meat platter, and chicken and shrimp dishes). Desserts are homemade, delicious and artistic. It is open from 8am-9:30pm, Sollano 21, 152-0563. Have a meal there and you’re in for a treat.
The featured artists are also unique and special. Sandra Palma’s wide range of interests includes jewelry, sculpture, ceramics and painting. Maria Guadalupe Oliveras favors ceramics, oil/pastel/acrylic painting, and ink and charcoal drawings. For this opening, they have chosen to display an assortment of their works to appeal to a variety of tastes.
The public is invited to this special event. Not only will you enjoy yourself, but this is a chance to help the SPA (Los Pinos 7, 152-6124, www.spasanmiguel.org) support its 100 resident cats and dogs looking for homes.
