The other reality of vowels

By Lilia Trápaga

Óscar de la Borbolla

The Theatre Group “El Caldero” (The Cauldron) invites you to enjoy a fun evening watching the play Las vocales malditas (The Damned Vowels), by Oscar de la Borbolla. The dialog highlights the richness of the Spanish language through a game that continually surprises us with unexpected findings. Las vocales malditas is a jewel in any library, and it is the result of a skillful use of language and writing and a fascinating search for words that only contain one of the vowels.

His irreverent and critical humor concerning social reality provokes in us that laughter that is an expression of freedom.

The actors (in alphabetical order) are Marcia Armenta, Paloma Defendini, Jesús Ibarra, José Luis Mendoza, Eduardo Mora, Edna Orenday, Victor Rivadeneyra, Francisca Sánchez Salcedo and Etienne. Sound and lighting are by Patrick Johnson Trápaga; the play is directed by Lilia Trápaga.

The show is in Spanish, and in the playbill there will be a synopsis in English. The performance is not suitable for children.
