To start the day with a smile and full of energy, we suggest a delicious breakfast at one of the most traditional places in San Miguel, Café de la Parroquia. Some say the chilaquiles there are the best in town, and you can accompany them with coffee or orange juice. Café de la Parroquia is at Jesus 11 in Centro and is open 8am–4pm.
After breakfast, we suggest you to visit the museum “La Otra Cara de México,” which has one of the most extensive collections of ceremonial masks in Mexico; they also have an exhibition of work by Mexican artists and artisans and more than 200 masks for sale. Located at Cuesta de San José 32, it is open only by appointment (tel. 154-4324).
During these hot days you might prefer something fresh and cool to eat, so to pamper your palate we recommend a delicious cobb salad at the restaurant Hecho en México. The salad includes lettuce, grilled chicken, bacon, avocado, blue cheese, egg and tomato. Hecho en México is located at Ancha de San Antonio 8 in Centro and is open 12–10pm.
To relax and enjoy a beautiful sunset with a tasty drink a good option is La Azotea, a bar with a beautiful view of La Parroquia and great music that also serves food. La Azotea is located upstairs at Umarán 6 in Centro and is open 8am–1am.
