Centro Fox is an institution located in León, Guanajuato, founded by the former Mexican President, Vicente Fox, with the mission of contributing to the training of leaders based on social values through a platform that promotes equity, to promote the ideas and actions of our people projecting nationally and internationally.
On Saturday May 24, a group of 52 children , who benefit from the various free courses of La Biblioteca, was invited to the Centro Fox to participate in “President for a Day”, a unique program to promote leadership , for students from kindergarten to university , which aims to contribute to the formation of committed and responsible citizens. Sandra Suaste, manager of La Biblioteca, reported that 52 children took part as citizens in electing one of themselves as president. The election was won by Reddy Hillers, a participant in the Club de Ciencias of La Biblioteca, headed by Teacher Rita DeBrito. Reddy’s proposals, for which he was elected as president for one day, were to build more classrooms and hire more teachers so that more courses for children could be offered at La Biblioteca, besides keeping the place clean always. Reddy, as President, signed on behalf of the children, a commitment certificate in which they promise to follow the rules of la Biblioteca and enforce them for all the users. The document was also signed by former President Fox, by Teacher Rita DeBrito and by a mother who accompanied the children. Soon Centro Fox will be supporting La Bibloteca with a concert by the Children Symphony Orchestra of Centro Fox, as a fundraiser event for La Biblioteca.
