Second International Gastronomy Week Guanajuato ¡Sí Sabe!

Guanajuato and San Miguel de Allende will again offer some of the best food around with the Second International Gastronomy Week Guanajuato ¡Sí Sabe! This will be held from May 31 to June 8 in eight different locations in the state, including San Miguel de Allende. It presents the best of national and international cuisine. San Miguel’s gastronomy week begins with the fourth edition of the Festival of Lamb and Mezcal at Jardines del Vergel at the Hotel Real de Minas. Fifteen restaurants and 25 mezcalerías will be on hand to promote San Miguel cuisine and mezcal. The festival will feature chef Bricio Domínguez and Florencio Sanchidrián, considered one of the world’s greatest carvers of Ibérico ham from Spain.
The entrance fee is 300 pesos for adults and 100 pesos for children and includes lamb served from 1pm to 5pm; after 5pm you can ask for the menu from participating restaurants. Dishes will not exceed 100 pesos. Mezcal will be available for tasting all day long from noon until 10pm. Around 800 attendees are expected.

On Sunday, June 1, Rancho Toyan will organize an exhibition of wine and cheese produced in the Bajío region. There will be tastings, lectures and conferences. Tickets will cost 100 pesos per person, and you can enjoy an unforgettable visit to the vineyards of Rancho Toyan. Located at Km. 8.5 Salida a Querétaro.
Under the direction of Karen Wix, from the Oca restaurant in Mexico City, Calenda will offer an array of foods with European, Mediterranean and Mexican inspiration. The event will take place on Tuesday June 3, from 2pm at 10pm, it is located at Calle Nueva10.
On Wednesday, June 4, Rancho Toyan will also offer tours of the cellars and vineyards, culminating in an exquisite tasting of organic wines and five different moles of the region, prepared by international chef Juan José Gómez, from 12pm to 4pm, tickets are 500 pesos.
Finally, on Saturday, June 7, Casa de Aves will participate with the event Cinco Chefs, Cinco Tiempos, Cinco Horas and will bring eight renowned local, national and international chefs Evan Mallet, Anahid Korkoraitien, Eduardo Osuna, Pablo San Roman, Enrique Farjeat, Armando Prats, Marcela Bolaño and Alberto Ituarte. The cost of the event is 600 pesos and includes a choice of five dishes, a dessert, two soft drinks, two glasses of wine, two artisanal beers and coffee. In addition, there will be a market of cheese, mezcal and wine, crafts and live music. During this event, there will be a tribute to the beloved Mexican cook Chepina Peralta. The tribute will take place during the event from 1–6pm, closing the Festival of Gastronomy Guanajuato ¡Sí Sabe! in San Miguel de Allende.
