Promoting the visual arts

This is the third annual SMART initiative made by entrepreneurs of San Miguel de Allende; specifically by Hotel Matilda, Dos Casas, L’Otel and their respective affiliates, promoting the visual arts.

On the weekend of May 29 to June 1, the hotels will introduce their guests to the art-filled lifestyle that sanmiguelenses are fortunate enough to enjoy.

Although this event is intended for guests of these three hotels, they also have events open to the public, such as the DJ Rulo party at Hotel Matilda on Saturday, May 31 at 10:30pm. It costs 500 pesos and will feature an open bar. According to the artistic proposal of SMART the ticket for this celebration will be a tattoo, a reproduction of a work by Fabian Ugalde that will be on display.

Brazilian artist Eduardo Kobra will start a mural on the facade of Hotel Matilda on May 26 and complete it on May 31. Kobra lives in Sao Paulo and is the flagship artist of the soccer World Cup this year in Brazil.

SMART closes the event on June 1 with an open brunch in the gardens of Hotel Matilda from noon to 5pm at Pila Seca 36. The cost is 300 pesos with seafood, beer and clamato to “cure” the DJ party of Saturday night.
