Try the new Adventure Park
By Jade Arroyo
In San Miguel de Allende there’s a new option for adventure tourism and keeping in close touch with nature, the Parque de Aventura (Adventure Park), located on the side of the volcano called “Las Tres Cruces” (The Three Crosses). Here you can find a circuit of seven tirolesas (tyrolean crossings or zip lines), a 70-80 meter high hanging bridge and the best views in town. The zip lines add up to about 1km. in total. The longest one is 240 meters (something like four times the size of the Parroquia). The top height is 90 meters (about 1.5 Parroquias). The Tyrolean crossings are a great adventure experience, carrying visitors above the spectacular canyon of Los Picachos.
The tour lasts three hours and includes safety equipment (harness, life line, carabineer pulley line and helmet), a bilingual guide specialized in natural and cultural landscape, specialized equipment for the Tyrolean crossing and the bridge over the canyon, a water bottle and digital photos. The entrance fee of 790 pesos per person includes entrance and the Tyroleans. There is a special two-for-one deal for sanmiguelenses showing their IFE ID.
