Casita Linda announces new president and board members

Louise Gilliam has been elected president of the board of directors of Casita Linda. A board member of Casita Linda since 2011, Gilliam is a former airline industry executive and owned Gilliam Associates, Inc., an executive search firm specializing in placing high-level personnel in the transportation and hospitality industry. A permanent resident of San Miguel for eight years, she has been the event chairman for Casita Linda for the past six years. President Gilliam would like to introduce new members of the Board of Directors and the volunteer team of Casita Linda.
Lyn Gawan, newly appointed member of the board of directors, has lived in Europe, North Africa, the United States and Mexico. Gawan started her career by building 11 independent gas stations throughout southern Arizona. She then moved on to spend seven years in the Office of Cultural Programs at Colorado State University, Fort Collins, Colorado, where she brought events covering all disciplines of the arts to the campus and to the city of Fort Collins. She worked for three years as a personal banking officer and business development specialist for the Bank of Santa Fe in New Mexico prior to becoming a full-time mother and community volunteer. As a volunteer, Gawan coordinated hospitality for film festivals in Houston, Texas; Charleston, South Carolina; Denver and Durango, Colorado; and Taos and Santa Fe, New Mexico. She and her husband, Jack, reside in San Miguel de Allende.
New board member Joanne Howard is a registered nurse and was a television and radio host in Boston, Massachusetts. Howard owned a publishing company in Pennsylvania and has been active in volunteering for various organizations both in the United States and in San Miguel de Allende. She and her husband, Graeme, have been permanent residents of San Miguel for 20 years and have been longtime supporters of Casita Linda.
Casita Linda also welcomes Janell Meador as our volunteer publicist, Kathy Machir as our newsletter editor and George Claiborne Fields III as our summer intern. Jack Harrop has returned to Casita Linda and is handling relationship marketing.
