Magic Town Music Festival kicks off festivities with a VIP Party, Friday, April 11 in a fabulous San Miguel residence in Centro. Guests will mingle with the Magic Town musicians, enjoy their live music, and dance performances by Mittie Babette Roger. San Miguel’s premier restaurants will bring their delicacies and our guests are welcome to enjoy an open bar. The party will also include a silent and a live auction of art, fabulous trips, jewelry, and much more, all donated to benefit the angels of Casa de los Ángeles.
The two-day festival will be held at Ranchito Cascabel, known locally as “Timlandia.” Located just 20 minutes away from downtown San Miguel de Allende, the site has been generously provided by its owner, Tim Sullivan. A particular attraction of the place is its architecture: the amphitheater and buildings were designed by local artist Steve Kornher (FlyingConcrete.com) and inspired by the work of the famous Catalan architect Antoni Gaudí. The festival will provide free shuttle transportation from Fábrica Aurora to and from the venue. Local restaurants will be on-site serving a variety of food and beverages. Local artisans will sell their wares and special edition Magic Town Music merchandise, along with CDs by our Magic Town musicians.
This event is designed to raise much-needed funds for the center, founded in 2000 as a safe haven for single moms, serving the San Miguel de Allende community’s poorest children. Casa de los Ángeles is currently providing medical services, food, emergency shelter, temporary housing, and educational grants to 78 poor families and 100 toddlers in the San Miguel community. The success of the center lies in the palpable passion of its founder, Donna Quathamer, and the dedicated people drawn by Donna’s deep, abiding love for every family, mother, child, volunteer, and donor. Casa de los Ángeles owes its continued existence and success to the support of a committed community; to date, over 1,800 volunteers from 34 countries have supported the organization in numerous ways.
In the spirit of community, the families are required to participate in the life of the daycare center by giving one hour of service for each day their child is present. To date, the Casa de los Ángeles has hosted approximately 1,500 children, from infants to four years of age, feeding their bodies and minds and making sure there is a smile on every young face.
Magic Town Music Festival is a community collaboration with an all-volunteer organizing committee. The festival brings a unique, world-class music lineup to San Miguel de Allende.
