New flights back and forth from Mexico City to the Bajío airport in Silao will be available beginning May 8. This new route will be covered by Interjet, with a Superjet 100 airplane, the most modern plane flying alternative routes.
State Tourism Secretary Fernando Oliveran Rocha announced that this new route is part of the continuing efforts to offer both national and international travelers more options for traveling to our state. With this new route the number of travelers at the Airport will be increased (currently the airport operates 150 weekly flights with seven airlines).
Interjet said that as a promotion to kick off operations in the Bajío tickets will cost 1,999 pesos including taxes (one-way) and passengers can have access to all Interjet services without extra cost, such as checking luggage up to 50 kilos. Pets can travel free, sport equipment can be checked in, infants travel free, and seniors get a permanent discount. All planes have separate restrooms for women, and children can travel alone without an extra charge. Other benefits are also available.
