Be heard on the topics of community, social justice and spirituality
By Robin Loving Rowland
Do you have an important message to share on the topics of community, social justice and/or spirituality? If so, the San Miguel de Allende Unitarian Universalist Fellowship would like to hear from you. In general, UUs value the individual spiritual journey. UU faith is of deeds, not creeds. There is perhaps no faith community that affirms more completely the power and potential of women and men to find and/or create meaning. What brings UUs together is a commitment to community. UUs know that differences need not divide us.
The local UU Fellowship is proud to attract more than its members most Sundays of the year because we attract high-quality presenters who emphasize our values of community, spirituality and social justice. We expect that our presenters will present for up to 20 minutes on a universal topic, be deeply knowledgeable of that topic, include congregation participation, and be skilled presenters.
We ask our presenters to relate to our principles, which are: the inherent worth and dignity of every person; justice, equity and compassion in human relations; acceptance of one another and encouragement to spiritual growth in our congregations; a free and responsible search for truth and meaning; the right of conscience and the use of the democratic process within our congregations and in society at large; the goal of world community with peace, liberty, and justice for all; and respect for the interdependent web of all existence of which we are a part.
Presenters will be invited to complimentary refreshments and a complimentary lunch following the service. Presenters appear complimentarily with only few exceptions when a stipend is paid to a visiting minister.
Our meeting times are Sundays from 10:30–11:45am. We meet at Hotel la Aldea, Ancha de San Antonio 15, colonia Centro. For more information, please contact Sunday Service Committee Chair Robin Loving Rowland at email@example.com, 152-3709 or 925-476-8117.
