Nuevos comienzos (new beginnings)

sBobby Lee Krajnik uses a rich palette to create vibrant playful landscapes. The history and beauty of the Southwest landscape, and also the iconic and traditional folk art of Mexico, have influenced her work. Her current series “Missiones” is based on sanctuaries of the Southwest and Mexico. It is a work in progress, which continues to evolve. “I am drawn to the rich histories, weathered exteriors and hand construction of these special buildings. Whether working in San Miguel de Allende, or from her Scottsdale, Arizona, studio, Krajnik seeks to combine her love of travel with her passion for painting. Her cheerful landscapes have a unique personality which seem to speak to the viewer. “It is very important to me that my work be positive and uplifting to those who view it. I want to bring a smile to peoples’ faces, make them chuckle or just feel a little lighter for having viewed my work. If I can make the world a little brighter through my art then my work is done.”
Bobby Lee has exhibited in galleries and museums throughout the Southwest. Her paintings are exhibited in galleries in Santa Fe and Taos, New Mexico, and San Miguel de Allende and are currently on display at the Old West Museum in Cheyenne, Wyoming, through April 13, 2014.
