Bendita blesses us with Mexican fashion
By Jade Arroyo
One of the most stylish shops in San Miguel is Bendita, a showroom dedicated to promoting the talents of young Mexican designers. Last weekend Bendita presented an event in anticipation of spring filled with fashion, flavor and music called Spring Moda Weekend to launch three new designers who are part of the featured talents at Bendita: Jan Lakech jewelry and unique pieces designed by Janeth Cuellar from Monterrey, Nuevo León, combining contemporary design with artisanal work that expresses art, culture and Mexican folklore; sculptor Mariano Ramírez, who introduced a line of exclusive jewelry for Bendita; and Mixlate, a brand of modern and functional clothing from Guadalajara, Jalisco. The celebration was a feast for all the senses. Kux’tal gourmet artisan chocolates; mezcal drinks from Mezcalite with a perfect blend of traditional, artisanal and organic products from Ara Mezcalite from Tlacolula, Oaxaca; and Pret-A-Sandwich’s delicious organic sandwiches were all available. DJ Oscar Goldman, from Mexico City, played a selection of house, nu disco, new beats and vocals. Friends, tourists and fashionistas alike came to enjoy the fun. Bendita Showroom is located at Hernández Macías 56 and is open Wednesday to Sunday from 12pm to 8pm.
