Don’t miss the “Go To” event of the year!
By Marc Berube
By now, you’ve heard the buzz about San Miguel’s “hidden treasure” just over the mountains — the magical hacienda Purísima de Jalpa where the SPA will be holding its fundraiser on March 23rd. Why is the SPA sponsoring this event? For over 30 years, we’ve been committed to maintaining a refuge for animals who can’t ask for help themselves. Thanks to donations from our supporters, our non-profit organization is able to shelter approximately 100 animals and has over 200 adoptions per year to loving homes. None of this could happen without the financial help we receive from donations and fundraisers like this one! Lady, Tramp, Jackson, and Santiago are just some of the SPA animals who will benefit from your support.SPA’s Treasures of San Miguel Fundraiser Honoring Dea Randall Treasure Hunt-Delicious Food-Silent Auction-Raffle Entertainment by The Improv People Sun, Mar 23, 1-5pm Hacienda Purisima de Jalpa Tickets (1,000 pesos/US$85) now available Purchase at La Conexion (Aldama 3, Café Monet) & the SPA Email SPAJalpa@gmail.com for more info
You’ll be astounded by the serenity, beauty and history of this place! This is most certainly a Destination Location – a magnificent hacienda complete with casino, outdoor theatre, porticos and patio, a working organic farm, walking paths, and a tranquil lake. No need for many hours of travel to experience the “real Mexico”… it’s right here.
In addition to the stunning location, the SPA has a fun-filled day planned for you. This is the event people will be talking about! We are honoring Dea Randall, a very special treasure of the SPA. She has been a volunteer at the SPA for 17 years. Her unwavering support of the organization and the animals is truly inspiring. To help you explore the grounds, there will be a treasure hunt allowing you to walk around and discover more hidden treasures. There is a raffle and a silent auction planned with some wonderful items from local and exotic locales. Entertainment will be provided by Mary Sullivan at the baby grand as well as San Miguel’s own The Improv People, who will be taking time out from their sold-out show schedule to entertain us! Horseback riding and kayaking are also available, additional to the event, by contacting Susan Zerman Williams at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Limited transportation is available and car pools are encouraged. To arrange for transportation to the location, email SPAJalpa@gmail.com. Tickets on sale February 24 through March 17 (head count needed) at La Conexion (Aldama and Cafe Monet) and at the SPA (152-6124) for 1,000 pesos/US$85. For US tax deduction purposes, checks can be made out to San Miguel Community Foundation. Don’t miss the “Go To” event of the year! See you there.
