Tenth photographic tertulia at Bellas Artes
Following the tradition of gathering the last Thursday of the month to talk and exchange ideas about photography, on February 27 the 10th edition of the photographic tertulias (regular, informal meetings) promoted by artist and teacher Flor Acosta took place. The photographic tertulia is a project that began back in February 2013, offering a space to look at and discuss the photographic image. The artists first show slides of their work and talk about the creative process, their vision, and the technique. The artist’s talk is followed by a discussion and exchange of ideas (a talk sprinkled with one or two shots of mescal, to expand our brains and loosen the tongue).
The first nine gatherings were housed at the Atelier-Galería Flor Acosta, but the 10th was held at the Cultural Center “El Nigromante” (Bellas Artes), which has more space. Experts and amateurs alike are welcome to come together for a dialogue. The most recent tertulia recapped the previous work discussed and a offered a general vision of talking about photography. The plan is to hold a tertulia once a month. The next one will focus on the photographic work of Al Tirado and Debora Turvebille.
