Valentine’s Day at the goose

On Valentine’s Day one of the most important parties was the one thrown by Casita Linda, a nonprofit organization that builds houses for families in poverty. This was a somewhat unconventional party with a 60s theme held under the watchful eyes of a goose of epic proportions, located in Colonia Allende. Whether a piece of art to some or an absurd yet amusing joke for others, the giant goose has been a cause of controversy in town since it was built, and pretty much everyone in town has seen it (at least from afar). If getting loose under the goose wasn’t surreal enough, another perk of the party was the completely groovy 60s theme. Here and there you got friendly salutes, but you needed to look twice to recognize your friends under those wild wigs and get-ups. The party was a honking success, filled with music, dancing and food under a beautiful full moon, but most important were the funds raised for Casita Linda.
