In 2014 the Art Foundation for Children will be going into several neighborhoods outside the center of San Miguel to offer classes in art for children in need. These neighborhoods are Ejido de Tirado, San Rafael, San Luis Rey and Guadalupe. Children receive instruction from qualified teachers who are committed to the mission and vision of the Foundation. Art Foundation for Children is also about to make its foray into economically distressed areas of the city with its program to promote literacy through art.

About the exhibit

The works presented in the exhibit came from the hearts and minds of children 5 to 12 years old who have painted colorful pictures and told us their stories. They are the winners of the annual art contest that the Art Foundation for Children has been carrying out since 2010 to promote children’s love for art. The competition has become a tradition for the schoolchildren of San Miguel. This exhibition at Bellas Artes is an example of how hard work can help children fulfill their dreams.

The awards ceremony starts at 5pm, and the exhibition opens with a welcome cocktail at 6pm.
