Architectural styles abound in San Migue

By Betse Davies

There are styles in architecture as well as in dress design. The big difference is that once a building is built in certain style, it can stay there for centuries… at least that is true in San Miguel. On Thursday, February 20, Doug Lord will conduct the monthly Patronato Pro Niños Architectural Walking Tour of the downtown. The tour group will assemble in the Jardin aross the street from the Parroquia and leave at 10am. Walkers are limited to 22 and the donation is 200 pesos. Doug will interpret the styles of the handsome old buildings and some new ones as well, as there are several illustrations of Mexican Modern in the downtown area. Your walks henceforth will be more fun as you will be able to “read” the diverse and monumental architecture which abounds in San Miguel and helped make San Miguel the Best City in the World.
