This Valentine’s Day, the Atascadero Castle invites you to come together for a unique party experience. The hand-carved cantera stone castle is a treat in itself to see, but there will also be food, music, dancing and a display of paintings from some of San Miguel’s most exciting artists.
The food and drink will be mostly local, artesanal and organic and offered at only 30 pesos per order. There will be wine, tequila, cheeses, breads, smoked salmon, the best ice cream, fresh fruit juices and more.
The art exhibition will feature oil paintings from Ukrainian-Canadian artist Andrew Osta, whose unmistakable style mixes the Eastern-European dreaminess of Marc Chagall with San Miguel themes and colors. See the work Andrew created in San Miguel over the last three years, priced to sell.
Also in the exhibition are the collage creations of Marcia Webster Abrosimova, who works using fragments of recycled magazines and other material to make complex, intricate and expressive images, some narrative and others abstract.
Last but not least we have Donna Parker, whose recent oil paintings of light, fantastic and magical themes are influenced by the culture, brightness and color of Mexico. In addition, there will be works by guest artists.
Please join us from 2pm onwards on Friday, February 14. Santo Domingo 71 (same street as Correo, only higher up) The art sale will continue for the rest of February. 121-5596 or 415-111-5894 for any questions. www.SanMiguelCastle.com.
