“Uncommon Hope,” painting exhibition of an emerging artist
By Allison Perse
The Bordello Galeria warmly invites you to join us again for the closing of Jaime Adan’s remarkable show this Saturday, February 1, from 6 to 8pm.
Sat, Feb 1, 6–8pm
A self-taught painter, Jaime’s passion is to record the changing, vanishing culture that is transforming Mexico as we have known it.
Jaime is a long time friend of San Miguel and its surroundings as a traveler. From an early age, he has lived a decidedly nomadic lifestyle. His interests are focused on understanding marginalized social characters such as small farmers, ranchers and indigenous folks found in Europe and America. Jaime learns from his experiences by listening, observing and asking, “Tell me your story.” In this light, Jaime finds joy by working in the present, painting almost exclusively en plein air. The young painter has continued to evolve his range of techniques while maintaining a wide diversity of commissioned works such as portraits, murals, and live weddings among other subjects.
Come meet the artist and his friends at our closing reception this Saturday at Bordello Galería, Órganos 19.
