World Tai Chi and Qigong Day: Peace on earth, good will toward men

By Virginia Harford

Hundreds of cities in over 80 nations are participating in World Tai Chi and QiGong Day. This is held the last Saturday of April each year at 10am local time and this will be the 16th year.

Cities participating with events spreading calm and peace around the world: Tunisia, North Africa; Auckland, New Zealand; Los Angeles, California; Toronto, Canada; San Juan, Puerto Rico; Cairo, Egypt; Jerusalem, Israel, Indonesia; Antwerp, Belgium; Porto, Portugal; and Hong Kong.

“You know words cannot express feelings, only acts do it. I’m sure when you created the WTCQD, you did not imagine that it would be celebrated all over the world and grow so fast. Teaching Tai Chi, inspiring Tai Chi, offering Tai Chi, living Tai Chi is an act of love.

You drove all of us in the path of One World…one breath. Step by step, we would reach to one mind…one spirit. Thank you today, thank you tomorrow, thank you always. TAO bless you with the force of the Tiger and the malleability of the Water.”—Jose Milton Olivra-Being Tao Association/Square of Universal Harmony-Brasilia, Brazil.

In the December 13, 2013, email from WTCQD, an extraordinary article with photo and story were about External Qigong putting buffalo to sleep. “If Dr. Kaqnzawa’s Qi has this dramatic impact on this buffalo and alpaca herd, imagine the impact of thousands of Tai Chi and Qigong mass events in over 80 nations wrapping the planet in a wave of healing Qi, as World Tai Chi & Qigong Day events have each year!”

“Your organizing of this global event has been very helpful in gaining media attention for the benefits of Qi Gong & Tai Chi and in creating awareness of our school and classes. New people come to our World Tai Chi & Qi Gong Day event every year.” —Howard Fraracci-Qi Gong teacher, Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
