Sibling rivalry—for affection, that is!
By Megan Gabel
Esme, Gema, and Cassie are siblings and they compete with each other—for affection. Cassie and Esme, in particular, are affection hogs. Gema, the meekest of the three, lets her sisters take over, but, when the other two aren’t looking, she slinks in for her fair share.
Esme and Cassie are difficult to tell apart. Both medium-large, Esme is slightly smaller than Cassie. With beautiful piercing eyes outlined in black, they would each prefer to be petted forever—never moving from her chosen spot across your lap. Which is why they don’t do so great together—one lap doesn’t share too easily. Esme and Cassie are very affectionate and freely give kisses to let you know how contented they are. They are outgoing, energetic, strong beauties who would do well with a lot of exercise and room to run. They would do best in a home where sharing attention with another pet is not an issue.
Gema, on the other hand, is very shy. A lanky, medium-large two-year-old with soulful eyes, she allows her sisters to take center stage, standing in wait for a moment when she can become the center of attention. As outgoing and self-confident as her sisters are, Gema is the opposite. She jumps at any startling noise, even the rumble of stones as a stranger moves towards her to take her for a walk. She is on red alert, ready to scurry back into safe surroundings rather than risk venturing out. Despite her fear, she is an affectionate sweetheart who is happy to be the center of attention. Make a safe home for her and she will be your steadfast friend.
