The imagination of Arvino Kaganovich is behind that whimsical structure. These are his words:

“Most people I meet enjoy the Goose. They say that the Goose makes them happy. There is a small minority who believe the Goose is inappropriate for San Miguel. However, no one has ever told me that the Goose is ugly or looks poorly constructed or junky. The Goose, which is the world’s largest goose, is my work of art and love and is a structurally complicated sculpture. Those who have entered the Goose are universally impressed and also amused that the wings can be cranked open for ventilation. The Goose is the greeting guard for Plaza San Arvino, a playground for the creative. Someday, I can envision Plaza San Arvino filled with specialty stores, workshops, parties and special events. In addition to the Goose Party Room, the Plaza has a three-suite hotel, Hotel Buenos Sueños, an amphitheater, 12 high-ceiling multi-use spaces, and tons of options and opportunities. Adjoining the Plaza is an additional large parcel of land dedicated for parking for Plaza activities. So come look, enjoy and help a very good cause, Casita Linda.’’

Now, for the first time, Arvino has opened the Goose for public use and has graciously donated the facility to Casita Linda. You have a chance to go inside the Goose, have a great evening and help those people who live in extreme poverty here in San Miguel. This Woodstock-South trip down memory lane will feature all the fun things that you remember…. the food of the ‘60s, music and dancing, entertainment, Jell-O shots, wine, beer and more. A special treat is Billie Rose, singing around a huge roaring bonfire. Wear your ‘60s garb, and bring your guitar for a sing-along. You can reminisce while sitting upstairs in the Goose’s head in the Hookah Room or dance downstairs in the Goose’s belly and marvel at the laser light show. You won’t want to miss this evening.
