Bazaar of Art and Design supports arts made in Mexico
By Jade Arroyo
Offering direct sales by artists to the public, Bazaar of Art and Design of San Miguel is a platform and showcase for independent artists and designers working in Mexico.
Bazaar of Art and Design of San Miguel
Sat & Sun, Jan 25 & 26, 10am–6pm
Ancha de San Antonio 28
Free entrance
Around 40 designers and artists producing in Mexico will be presenting items for sale, some of them young Mexican designers showing their work for the first time in San Miguel (such as Ballas & Semillas or fashion designer Fer Del Real). In this second edition the bazaar will be held at Ancha de San Antonio 28, a pretty, open-air space with trees and vegetation (look for the colorful giant puppets at the entrance). In this bazaar you can find a large array of design, from clothes, shoes and handbags to silver jewelry, photography, illustrations, lamps, vintage-inspired décor items, stained glass, botanical art, organic beauty and health products, accessories for dogs and more. The products are all distinct from one another, but all the pieces show great quality and a laborious artisanal process. This is a great shopping chance out of the routine to see some new things and a take a breath of fresh air. There will also be food, a small coffee shop, cookies, pastries and sweet treats, along with music all day. The Bazaar is pet-friendly. Paying with cash is encouraged.
