Wheelchairs for neighbors in need

Throughout its history, Club Rotario de San Miguel (Club 23623, District 4160), has worked on behalf of members of its community. One of its campaigns provides special wheelchairs for the handicapped and elderly, who otherwise could not afford them. Donations by club members and other local NGOs makes this possible.
During the year, a Rotary committee receives applications for these chairs. The applications are then evaluated to identify the level of need of the applicant and his or her financial situation. This year, we were able to donate 23 wheelchairs. “We trust that this small token of solidarity and Rotarian teamwork can help improve the quality of life of our brothers and sisters in need,” said Lic. Fernando González Quintero, president of Club Rotario de San Miguel (2013-2014).
The formal presentation event took place this past December 15 at the Jardin Principal; Lic. Fernando and Arq. Alfonso Sautto Agundis (proposed Club Rotario president for 2015-2016) led the ceremony, accompanied by friends and fellow Rotarians for the two clubs in San Miguel. “Our meetings are every Wednesday at 8:30pm at Hotel Quinta Loreto and everybody is welcome,” indicated Arq. Alfonso.
