Security forecast for San Miguel

By Robin Loving Rowland

We’d all like to think that San Miguel is simply nirvana, but even here, residents need to be proactive in order to avoid unnecessary risks. Sanmiguelenses Unidos, a security-focused organization representing both the expat and Mexican communities, is planning its 2014 agenda, and invites you to help create a secure future for all of San Miguel. David Bossman, who helped organize this new group, will speak at the Rotary Club Tuesday, January 14, at 12:30pm at Hotel Misión del Molino, on Salida de Querétaro. The presentation and parking will be free.

David Bossman has been living in San Miguel since 1997, and is a charter member of Midday Rotary. Unfortunately, he has also been a crime victim, which led him to become a founding member of the Municipal Security Committee, a citizens’ group which worked with the previous municipal administration in an attempt to explore possible solutions to crime. He has been with Sanmiguelenses Unidos since it was formed in 2012. In just four months, the group’s Facebook page, More Security San Miguel, has attracted almost 2,200 subscribers from all over the region, more than half of whom are Mexican.

Rotary professionally, intelligently and inspirationally unites diversely competent leaders to ethically and responsibly lead people to generate sustainable solutions to the world’s most acute humanitarian challenges through the strong connections of friendship and peaceful service.
