By Robin Loving Rowland
The Children’s World Peace Organization, which was founded in San Miguel a few years ago to share peace skills with elementary school students, is establishing office space and invites the community to an open house Friday, January 10, from 4-6pm at Vicente Araiza 11 in La Lejona near Mega. CWPO is proud to have had training space formerly at The Spanish School at Pueblito 5 in Centro.

“After three years of successfully transforming violent campuses into peaceful learning centers in three countries in as few as eight weeks, CWPO has developed a management organization for expansion and has rented space with our lawyer Mariana Salas, principal of SMA Despacho Juridico,” said William Day, Jr., CWPO’s founder and CEO.
“We are delighted to have CWPO join us,” said Salas, whose firm represents CWPO worldwide. Her firm specializes in conflict mediation through compassionate communication, which is central to CWPO’s curriculum.
The vision of CWPO is to make a program like this accessible to all primary-aged students in the world in order to enable them, their parents and their communities to create a peaceful world.
CWPO, which has shared peace skills with more than 20,000 students in Kenya, Mexico, and Nepal, was named a Partner Sponsor of the United Nations’ International Day of Peace in 2013.
