Eclectic posada at La Zona

By Jade Arroyo

La Zona (The Zone) is the name adopted by the shops, galleries, boutiques, restaurants and a healing center located along Zacateros, Pila Seca and Rinconada de La Aldea.

On December 21, this trendy shopping area (which comprises 17 different businesses) held a collective Mexican-inspired Christmas posada.

Visitors followed the path from one place to another, following the piñatas that were hanging outside each shop, restaurant or gallery. The businesses offered special discounts, sales, drinks, snacks and other treats for passersby. The gathering was held in the afternoon until dinnertime. San Miguel residents and visitors mingled, shared holiday wishes and enjoyed the fun and art.

The participating businesses were Guadalupana, El Zaguán, Kuali, Abrazos, Magenta, La Mesa Grande, Mixta, Joyería David, Colors, Camino Silvestre, La Cava, Najjar Café, MultiEnvíos, Colectivo Mexicano, Olio Fino and Arroyo Gallery.
