Sondergaard, one of the most praised Danish writers of this generation, is a poet who works not only in words but in sound and in installation art as well. He will be reading from his new book, A Step in the Right Direction, which has been published in English and now in Spanish. Sondergaard has also translated work by Jorge Luis Borges and others into Danish.
Thomas Boberg, author of some 15 books of poetry, novels and travel books, is one of the most highly regarded writers in Europe, and the recipient of numerous awards and prizes. A world traveler and resident of Peru for 15 years, he will be reading from his hypnotic, visionary new book of poems, The Horse Eaters.
Both writers are fluent in Spanish as well as English, and while they will be reading in Spanish they will be happy to discuss their books afterwards in English or in Spanish. Books will be on sale and the authors will be available to sign. Wine will be served.
Boberg and Sondergaard will also be reading Saturday at a gala reading at Bellas Artes in Mexico City. Don’t miss a rare chance to hear this brilliant, engaging pair of world-class writers right here in San Miguel in the Sala del Mural de David Alfaro Siquieros at 5pm.
