Leonard’s presentation will focus on building an organizational culture that turns wishes, dreams and ‘oughts’ into objectives and action plans that focus on measurable results, sharing proven policies and procedures used by international development organizations throughout the world.
Formerly president of four commercial banks in the United States, Leonard is now an independent consultant and trainer specializing in organizational development for NGOs, governments and communities. His clients have included 44 international organizations including the World Bank, the United States Agency for International Development, the United Nations Development Programme, the European Union, the United Nations Children’s Fund, the Peace Corps and a variety of international and local NGOs in Southeast Asia, Africa, The Caucasus, Central Asia, the South Pacific, the United States, and Mexico. He is the author of Managing and Planning for Development, A Hands on Manual for NGOs and Government, which has been translated into four languages.
