Director and Maestro Antonio Cabrero announces the orchestra’s “All Europe” festival to be presented December 30, January 3 and 4 to celebrate the New Year and the first year of the orchestra’s existence.

Composers from France, Spain, England, Austria, Norway, Germany and Sweden will be featured.

Schubert will be heard “Alla Italiana,” Saint Saens, the most elegant French composer, in an oriental fantasy to a princess, Chabrier in a pastoral setting, Albeniz narrates his travels. Grieg, the ultimate folklorist of Norway, plays vigorous dances while another Nordic colleague of his, Johan Svendsen, travels south from his native Sweden to give us his impressions of a carnival in Paris.

We will also hear “Kunstlerleben” from the waltz king J. Strauss, depicting the life of an artist.

The festival will open at San Francisco Church to the sounds of “Masterpiece Theatre,” which will be recognized by everyone. The International Symphony Ensemble then moves to the Teatro Peralta to end the series with a tribute to Couperin by Maurice Ravel and a recently premiered arrangement to “Clair de Lune” by Debussy.
