By Jade Arroyo

Winter in San Miguel is one of the best ones that can be spend: clear mornings and sunny afternoons. Well, perhaps a little bit of cold at nigh time, but barely noted.

This chilli time of white mornings and early sunsets invites us to take refugee in cozy places while enjoying something warm and pleasing your sweet tooth. We suggest trying Petit Four, a bakery and coffee shop in the best French style; it offers excellent coffee, cookies, pastries and freshly-make sandwiches to grab a mid-afternoon bite.

Nectar is a charming and elegant tea house; it also offers hand-crafted ice-cream and sorbets (absolutely delicious!). The ice creams and sorbets come in natural fruit and tea flavors. They also serve excellent coffee and an amazing selection of teas and infusions. Give it a try, you won’t regret it. Located at Mesones 99, right across the street from Angela Peralta theatre.

The Museum of the Popular Mexican Toy “La Esquina” is located at the corner of San Francisco and Nuñez. The current exhibition is formed by pieces by the Third National Contest of Popular Mexican Toy. Pieces by the best artisans in the country, which combine creativity and wit in a galore of materials like cardboard, fabric, metal and wood. The museum has also a gift store tu purchase lovely presents for young and old ones.

The weather invites us to down the rhythm and enjoy a delicate cup of tea, breathing with more awareness and appreciating the beauty that surround us. Néctar tea house is a completely exquisite place (housed within the lovely shop Camino Silvestre Casa, Correo and Chiquitos), offering a large variety of teas and herbal and floral blends, besides ice creams and sorbets and delicate French-style cookies. Good spot to go either by yourself or with a dear one. Nectar is open from 10am to 6pm Monday thru Saturday, and Sundays 10am to 4pm.
