Azzah is the director of an ongoing video library of interviews on Women’s Wisdom and has conducted transformational seminars on five continents over the past 30 years.
In Azzah’s interview project, she asked women to share their wisdom. Often the reply has been, “What wisdom? I don’t have any wisdom. I’m just an ordinary woman.” This is a great loss to each individual who thinks that, and a loss to the world.
Azzah has spent many years living with and working with indigenous people who value the wisdom of elders and the accumulated wisdom handed down from one generation to the next. Many native people say that men need to learn to open their heart chakras and women to open their throat chakras. Many problems in our world arise from men with open throats and closed hearts and women with open hearts and closed throats. Sharing our voices and speaking out our wisdom is one way to change not just ourselves but life as we live it today.
Imagine if there were an equal number of women in power as men. Laws would be different. Our earth would not be in the condition it is in now.
This is why Azzah is offering this conference: she is convinced that women’s wisdom must be present in the world in a much bigger way. It’s time for women to give voice to their wisdom and create the changes our world desperately needs.
Women’s wisdom emerges from linking with others, from sharing with others, from nurturing themselves and others. Life cannot thrive without these energies.
The conference speakers will share the accumulated wisdom from their lives. They include Adriana Minido, Val Ward, Annapurna McQueen, Judith Jenya and two others.
There will be many kinds of group interaction and much time for sharing.
