La Tienda has changed its location
La Tienda (The Store), one of the oldest social enterprises of the Biblioteca, has changed its location from the patio of the Biblioteca to Sala Juan Manuel Fajardo.
Since Friday, November 22, La Tienda, a space where customers can find good things from books to cards to jewelry and even paintings, has moved to the site formerly occupied by La Española. This change, according to Sandra Suaste, general manager of La Biblioteca, is in order to provide more space for the children’s area, which it needs for English, mathematics and computing classes, since the space they had was no longer enough.
The present location of La Tienda was given to the nonprofit organization in 2010, and after the artist David Leonardo had painted murals related to the chichimeca culture, it was inaugurated in 2011 and named the Sala Juan Manuel Fajardo, in homage to the chief librarian who has been working for the institution for more than 40 years.
La Tienda is now at Insurgentes 25 and it will be open from Monday through Friday from 10am-6pm, Saturdays from 10am-2pm and Sundays from 10am-12pm
