Our thank-you fiesta will be held during First Friday Art Walk at the Fábrica de la Aurora. Artists Ernesto Folch, Juan Díaz Durán, Victoria Pierce and Fidelio Herrera will be present to talk about their work process and share highlights of their art careers.
Juan Díaz Durán is a well-known oil painter of a surreal world in which surprising juxtapositions provoke the viewer to stay and gaze deeper. His works, found in collections around the world, tell stories, which are at once individual, personal and universal.
Ernesto De La Peña Folch, former director of the Bellas Artes in San Miguel de Allende, now returns to his first loves: teaching and making art. His innovative paintings and sculptures are known for textural interest, primitive simplicity and enchanting animal/people figures.
Fidelio Herrera is a sculptor extraordinaire. His works in clay, wood and metal capture the eye and mind with symbolic and metaphorical inferences. Drawings and etchings, another part of this artist’s repertoire, are on exhibit in the gallery as well.
Victoria Pierce, a master of mixed media and encaustics, delights in vibrant color and stunning composition. Her love for gold leaf is legendary, as is her vision of nature in abstraction, magical flowers that almost jump off the wall and a palpable visual vibration.
Please join the celebration of a great year at Gallery CSEIS.
