A toy for each child
By John Doherty
Dia de los Reyes Magos, or Three Kings Day, is January 6, and will soon be upon us. This is the day when children in Mexico traditionally receive gifts from los Reyes Magos and once again this year we want to help make this happen. The toy collection for children in rural communities is under way, and we are asking for the community of San Miguel’s help. Our request is that you provide one small inexpensive and unwrapped toy; it could be something like a soccer ball, a toy truck or car, a doll, or a game or a book. The children receiving the toys are girls and boys in rural communities between the ages of 3-12 years. There are over 1,200 children who are hoping that los Reyes Magos will bring them a gift on this special day.

Drop a new inexpensive toy in the toy bins located in many convenient locations around town

Please consider dropping one inexpensive unwrapped toy in the bins located around town, including Solutions (both locations), La Conexion (Aldama location), El Caracol Condominiums, Starbucks, OKO Restaurant, Buen Dia Café, Hank’s New Orleans Cafe & Oyster Bar, Café Muro, Café Rama, and Keith’s Longhorn Smokehouse. The bins will remain in place until we deliver the toys in early January. Through past experience we have found that there is shortage of toys for older children. You may wish to consider giving a book for an older girl or a soccer ball, which are truly appreciated by boys of all ages, and are often available at Mega for 48 pesos. If you wish, we can assist by doing the shopping for you; simply give me a call or drop me an email and we can work out the arrangements.
Please help us put smiles on the faces of many children this January on Dia de los Reyes Magos.
We thank you and wish Happy Holidays to all! email@example.com cellular: 044 415 115 8239
