By Jade Arroyo
The craft of being an artisan is one of the most emblematic of sanmiguelenses. This city has given great master artisans to the world, especially in metal, wool and brass. The Fair of Wool and Brass is an event of strong tradition and a showcase for the exhibition and sale of original handcrafts from San Miguel de Allende, where you can appreciate old traditional designs along with the more contemporary. In this Fair you will find items built of a variety of materials and styles to please every taste. It is an ideal place to do your Christmas shopping (especially if you want a gift with authentic San Miguel flavor), with both quality and affordable prices.
To make the event more attractive and more that just an exhibition, the Fair is complemented by live performances of dance, music, comedy and more; plus demonstrations and workshops given by expert artisans in pottery, metalwork, etc. The Wool and Brass Fair is located at Plaza Civica, and will remain open through November 25 from 10am through 7pm.
