From ages 8 to 80, there’s a Fringe Festival workshop for everyone. You’ll have your choice of more than 15 to consider, taught in English, Spanish, or both. Workshops will be led by such local favorites as Kate Rowland, Joseph Bennett and Patty Arrieta, as well as by special honored guests from around Mexico, including Vicky Araico (“Juana in a Million”) and Erando González (“Richard III”).
More than 15 hands-on workshops will be offered during the first bilingual Fringe Festival in Latin America.

•Acting with music
This workshop will include individual exercises with music, as well as some acting and dancing. Instructor: Erando González.
•Children’s theater workshop
Students will learn theater arts skills and will learn to work together as an ensemble through theater games and improvisation. Instructor: Carrie Haugh.
This workshop will teach you the tricks that make improv work and methods to help you think fast on your feet. Instructors: Joseph Bennett and Eli Hans.
•Deciphering Shakespeare through his poetry
A unique workshop designed for actors and for those who wish to simply deepen their enjoyment of Shakespeare. Instructor: Kate Rowland. Four 90-minute sessions.
•Free your voice
Learn the technique you need for the freedom you want—breath support, voice placement, diction, projection, volume and more. Instructor: Kate Rowland.
•Introduction to archetypal psychodrama
Students will create dramas around archetypal energies such as Power, Love, Fear, Peace, and Creativity. Instructor: Bill Pearlman.
•So you think you can write a screenplay?
This workshop will arm you with the right tools for creating your first screenplay. Instructor: Lorraine Flett.
•Writing and submitting the 10-minute play
By the end of this workshop, you will have completed your own short play and will know how to submit it for production. Instructor: Mark Saunders.
•The actor’s process
This workshop will include improvisation, guided fantasy, Gestalt Awareness, dream work, Buddhist space work, and theater games. Instructor: Peter Goldfarb.
•Choreography for adults and teens
This workshop will use improvisation as a tool for developing ideas, themes, emotions and musical interpretation. Instructor: Patty Arrieta.
This performance workshop will challenge dancers in their techniques while encouraging individuality. Instructor: Patty Arrieta.
By exploring the dynamics of the body in space, students will acquire the tools necessary to create characters in physical and emotional spaces. Instructor: Vicky Araico.
•Scenic body language
This workshop is for performing artists interested in discovering more authentic ways to move. Instructor: Daniel Gorozpe.
