Stroll along the Seine as evening falls and city lights begin to glimmer. Stop by a café in Montmartre for an aperitif; marvel at the matchless architecture of Notre Dame. A cruise along the historic river of France is the key to unlocking the secrets of this incredible country. Perfect Journeys will offer a seven-night river cruise, followed by two nights in romantic Paris, as a small group tour on May 8-17, 2014, aboard the AMA Waterways vessel AmaLegro.

Once you’re aboard your ship, simply unpack and relax, letting the Seine carry you through the enchanting beauty of the lovely countryside, so rich in legend, history and art.

Attend this seminar if you’ve ever dreamed of cruising from the city of l’amour to Giverny to breathe in the fragrance of Monet’s garden. Or strolling through Rouen to see the square where Joan of Arc was martyred.

Marking its 70th anniversary in 2014, the D-Day beaches, cemeteries and museum are poignant reminders of the historic top-secret Allied invasion of the heavily fortified Normandy coastline held by Nazi Germany. You will travel though the Calvados countryside to quaint Norman towns where the apple brandy is made. In Honfleur, travelers see one of the most charming fishing ports in all of Normandy. Beloved by artists, the French harbor town was re-created in paintings by Monet, Courbet and Boudin.

River cruising allows you to bike along the river in Les Andelys to view Château Gaillard, the ruins of the fortress of Richard the Lionheart. And discover Château Malmaison, the former home of Emperor Napoleon Bonaparte and his wife, Josephine. Discover the beauty of Paris on a panoramic sightseeing tour of historic landmarks and treasures and a visit to Musée d’Orsay. In your free time walk around the Île de la Cité and stop by an open-air market to shop as the Parisians do for bread, cheese and wine.

Details of the cruise and images of the fascinating itinerary will be presented. For more information contact Judy Newell at Perfect Journeys, SMA cell: 415-111-8765, Vonage 949-300-3682,
