Celebrate safe and healthy births at CASA’s new well-being center
By Noah Gutiérrez
Throughout history midwives have had an important role in the well-being of their community. A midwife accompanies a woman through her pregnancy, providing her with prenatal care while also being a source of support and friendship. When the time comes, she is there to make sure that every baby has a healthy and safe entrance into the world, and that the mother is accompanied by the midwife throughout the entire process.

The new Center for Well-being located in CASA’s Maternity Hospital is designed to promote a healthy and conscious community regarding midwifery. Birth is approached from a holistic perspective in which all aspects of the woman and her well-being are taken into account: her physical and emotional state, the health of her baby, and also, her thoughts and beliefs. CASA has been providing safe and caring births since the hospital doors opened in 1994. Since then, almost 8,000 babies have been welcomed into the world with love and respect.
It is important that the woman and her family participate actively throughout the pregnancy and to help families achieve this, CASA’s Hospital has been redesigned and has created the Center for Well-being. The resources we will offer are designed to meet the needs of the woman and her family, which include: new group prenatal care and breastfeeding classes, prenatal yoga, free family planning, early childhood development, nutrition, and a program for new fathers.
The re-inauguration of the hospital will be on October 4 at the CASA Hospital- Indalecio Allende 4 in San Rafael, with activities starting at 3:30pm. We hope that you and your family will join us and get to know the new services Center for Women’s Well-being. There will be a variety of activities, entertainment, food, and fun! If you would like more information about the event, please contact Nina Weber at: email@example.com or call at: 154-6060. We hope to see you there!
