The atelier and gallery Flor Acosta celebrated its fifth anniversary on August 8. This space, known as “the atelier,” is a project of the creative mind and unique perspective of photographer Flor Acosta. Like its name suggests, this is a place for showcasing photographic art and a space for the creation and development of this discipline, offering several photographic workshops (creativity, lighting, Photoshop and composition, among others) where the student not only learns technique but can also discover a new form of visual expression and a profession.

To celebrate the atelier’s fifth anniversary, a reception was held for the public along with an exhibit of photographs by Acosta entitled “Superflor” (Superflower). This project consists of 24 self-portraits of the artist (Flor as a Mexican revolutionary, a mermaid, Circe, and other characters), one taken every hour of the day. Each photo was paired with text extracted from the mythology of some culture or from Mexican folklore. Next Thursday 29 at 7pm, the atelier will held a photographic gathering guided by Flor Acosta, where she will present her work as an artist, evolution and creative process.

Atelier-Galería Flor Acosta is located at Tata Nacho 3, in Colonia Guadalupe. To visit the gallery or for further information about the workshops, you can call 154-5953, write to or visit
