Second annual Cheese, Bread and Wine Festival
By Antonio De Jesús Aguado
Tenedor Rojo Productions, an undertaking of the Hotel Real de Minas focused on gastronomic events, will present the second Cheese, Bread and Wine Festival, which is also a fundraiser for the San Miguel Fire Department, on August 17.
This family event will feature samplings of wines from Italy, Israel, Greece and Spain, among other countries, as well as cheeses from La Esmeralda, Rehilete, El Paré and Tapas de San Juan, among other cheese producers. The bread will be from local bakeries, including the one located at the hotel. The festival will include music performed by estudiantinas and piano music, surprise spectacles and a simulated farm to entertain the children.
A percentage of the ticket sales will go to the fire department, which was selected to receive the donations by the committee of Tenedor Rojo. According to the head of the department, Rodrigo Rojas, they need updated technology and money to cover their daily expenses, around 1,500 pesos per day, to be able to offer better service.
Tickets are on sale now at the hotel, and the price includes a glass of wine and samples of cheeses and breads.
