Firemen need your help!

By Roberto Pérez Solís

On the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the founding of the Fire Department of San Miguel de Allende, AC, this institution has received a proposal from the stained glass artists Luz María Guerrero and Rubén Shepard, for the development of a stained glass mosaic which will show firefighters battling a blaze. This work will be formed by small pieces of glass of different colors that will be offered to the public asking for a donation of 10 pesos per piece, so that donors themselves may place them in the stained glass mosaic.

In this way, besides raising funds for the fire station, we are trying to make the donors feel part of the institution and of the voluntary work we do for their benefit.

Once concluded, the stained glass mosaic will be placed at the fire station, so it can be appreciated by the general public.

You are invited to participate in the collection of funds for the completion of this great project. So far, we infinitely appreciate the cooperation we have had from the Fabrica La Aurora, the Instituto Allende, El Pollo Feliz where we will be on weekends from noon to 5pm, Plaza la Alhondiga, El Tianguis Orgánico Saturdays from 9am to 2pm, and at the Pulga Flea Market, on Sunday 21 from 9am to 4pm.
