“ ‘Retoños’ is a new path for me,” said the artist, “a shedding of a skin, an upsurge of ideas; each painting an evolution which releases new growth. It also marks a return to the emotion and sentiment which painting alone gives me.”
“To observe nature has become very important for me,” added this Queretaro artist. “It is as if I am rediscovering the sensation of touching a tree, seeing the birds, enjoying the rain, smelling the moist earth and feeling it beneath my feet. Moreover, I feel this has influenced my manner of painting — my colors have changed, as have the forms, the drawing and the materials I use.”
To mark the show, the gallery has produced a monograph, which will be given to those that attend the opening, with examples of the arist’s work together with critical appraisals by Albert Dallal and Erik Castillo, among others.
The artist has exhibited widely, both nationally and internationally ,and her work is included in museum and private collections.
