La Expendeduría, another option for culture
By Jade Arroyo
La Expendeduría is an independent exhibition and performance space that seeks to promote culture and attract new audiences. Through events such as exhibitions, workshops, film screenings and live performances those involved try to create a bridge, an open dialogue between people. The space is public, open, and all activities are offered free of charge.
The two founders are twin brothers, David Barajas and Danilo Filtrof. Collaborating with them are such artists as Ángel Beltrán, Roberto Almeida, Lucia Prudencio, Rodolfo Sousa, Jorge Caracheo and Sr. González, among others involved in the dissemination of culture.
La Expendeduría was inaugurated last March. To introduce the activities planned for the summer, on June 29 a cocktail reception, a sampling of art and a live performance were offered. Barajas and Filtrof expressed how pleased they were with the results and their expectations for upcoming projects.
La Expendeduría is a project of the foundation EPPCI, a nonprofit organization.
The space is open Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays from 11am to 4pm. To learn more about it, visit www.eppci.com or write to firstname.lastname@example.org.
