By Patricia Miller
Daniel Rueffert, one of the best known, accomplished and collectible painters in San Miguel de Allende, has joined Magenta Gallery.
The work of Daniel Rueffert
Fri, Jun 21, 4-8pm
Join us for his opening cocktail reception Friday, June 21, 4 to 8pm at Zacateros 26.
Rueffert, a plein aire (on location) painter, has lived in Mexico since 1969. His work captures and preserves the flavor of old rural Mexico in a world that is rapidly changing and an old Mexico that is rapidly disappearing.
His impressions of Mexican life, lifestyle and landscape have afforded him status as a master impressionist painter.
Daniel Rueffert studied at the Rocky Mountain School of Art in Denver and Bellas Artes and the Instituto Allende in San Miguel. He taught at the Instituto Allende for several years in the early 1980s.
He works in oils and pastels. The use of a palette knife in his works is a classical method providing each painting with greater expression, structure and form. His art can be found in collections worldwide.
Rueffert currently lives in Mineral de Pozos, a Pueblo Magico 65 km from San Miguel.
