Ventanas de San Miguel has generously offered our region’s finest championship golf course, designed by Nick Faldo, as the setting for this annual charity golf tournament scheduled to take place in honor of the Fourth of July and in celebration of creating independence for some of our most disadvantaged local children. George Washington Carver said, “Education is the key to unlock the golden door of freedom.” Organizers of this event believe that the key to these children’s future is to equip them with the best education available, something that no one can ever take away from them.
Participants in this prestigious event will enjoy an incredible day of golf, a complimentary breakfast, golfer gift bag, snacks and refreshments, an awards’ lunch ceremony and an opportunity to win many exciting prizes including a beautiful lot at Ventanas, two non-transferable golf memberships at Ventanas, a transferable golf membership at Ventanas, an i10 Chrysler car, a Clubcar golf cart, fine golf equipment, hotel and vacation accommodations, artwork, jewelry and much more.
Women will compete on Friday, July 5, under the format Stroke play as individuals. Men will play a Scramble format, in teams of three on Saturday, July 6. Teams must have a minimum of 45 handicaps. Complete rules and information are posted on our website www.ventanasdeoportunidad.org.
Entree fees are 2,500 pesos for men and 2,000 pesos for women. This is an offer for local golfers. Additional guests are invited to attend the awards’ lunch ceremony and participate in our silent auction for 750 pesos with a reservation required.
American journalist Sydney J. Harris wrote, “The whole purpose of education is to turn mirrors into windows.” All proceeds from this tournament will be used to provide private, bilingual education scholarships to our CHSJ girls.
