Traditional Cooks Meeting at the Charco del Ingenio

In order to promote the conservation of traditional Mexican cuisine within the San Miguel Festival Gourmet, on 7 and 8 June, there will be the first meeting of Michoacan Traditional Cooks in San Miguel de Allende, which will take place in El Charco del Ingenio and will include the participation of Chef Cynthia Martinez, leader of  “Zirita, workshop of culinary experiences.”

The event will begin at 4pm, with a lecture on the importance of the rescue of traditional cuisine, giving way to a Mexican dishes workshop taught by traditional cooks, who will be cooking corundas, a traditional dish from Michoacan, ending with a tasting of traditional cuisine, as well as sale of Oaxacan products and food from Vía Orgánica.

Also on June 9, Hacienda Purisima de Jalpa will receive Benedicta Alejo Vargas, traditional Michoacan cook, who has been one of the main promoters for the rescue of Mexican cuisine. For more information visit
